To achieve the goals of the Where’s Good project, we kicked off with our standard discovery process, diving into the project's aims, objectives, and defining what success would look like. This involved desktop research alongside the creation of detailed user profiles that captured both qualitative and quantitative insights into what users expect from an app in this space. These profiles explored user goals, common pain points, and lifestyle factors, giving us a richer understanding of the product-market fit and a foundation for meaningful design and development choices.
Building on the insights gathered and the brief from Where’s Good, we developed a scope of work (SOW) that outlined the logistics required to deliver a robust MVP and plan for future iterations. The resulting app features an intuitive heat map with a high refresh rate, allowing users to visualise real-time venue occupancy on a familiar map interface. Users can select locations, access business-provided information, make bookings, and submit post-visit feedback. On the business side, the platform offers enhanced visibility through profile listings, banners, and event promotions, supporting discovery and engagement in a competitive local market.
